APPOINTMENT INFO & CONTACT
“Love rests on two pillars: surrender and autonomy. Our need for togetherness exists alongside our need for separateness.”
APPOINTMENTS
I offer a free initial 10-15 minute phone consultation to find out more about what you are looking for and to answer any questions you may have. From there, we can set up a first appointment together. Note that not every therapist is a fit for every client and not every client is a fit for every therapist. We would explore your needs for therapy and what I offer. If you or I feel you are not finding what you need here, I am more than happy to give you referrals to someone who may work with your needs better. It is all about finding the perfect fit for you and your journey.
In our first session we will discuss more about what's bringing you to therapy at this time and what you are hoping to get out of the experience. You will also get more sense of how I work and have room to ask any further questions.
Subsequent sessions are generally 50 minutes or 90 minutes in length and we will meet one or more times weekly, depending on what is needed. Individuals usually prefer 50 minute sessions and couples often prefer 90 minute sessions to allow more time to share and explore. Once we decide to work together, your weekly time slot is reserved just for you.
I have found that the consistency of weekly sessions is necessary to allow us to get to know each other and to attend fully to what is bringing you to therapy. How long does therapy usually last? That is up to you, the client, and I do not place a time limit on your healing. This is talk therapy, so we do a lot of verbal processing. At times, depending on what you are seeing me for, you may have homework to work on outside of our sessions to help deepen your process and get to your results much faster. I would invite each person to ask that question to themselves and see if you are ready to step into the process, which is unique to each individual and can take as long as it needs to take, without rushing or pushing you towards an ending.
I offer brief and longer-term therapy depending on what your presenting struggles are and what is needed. My long-term depth work is more of a process oriented therapy, vs. a goal oriented therapy.
FEES
My fee per session is:
Individual $220 for 50 min
Couples $250 for 50 min
My focus is very much more on the transitional than the transactional, and what is received is your investment in yourself, your world/sexual views, and your deeper understanding of you and your relationships. This is my commitment to you and our work together.
Payment: I accept credit card & Venmo.
INSURANCE
I am currently not in-network with any insurance providers. However, I'm happy to provide you with a statement of services, also known as a "superbill," that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. I use Mentaya to check benefits. You can click the link at the bottom of this page to check your benefits right now
Important Considerations:
PPO vs. HMO Plans: PPO plans typically offer some coverage for out-of-network providers, while HMO plans generally do not.
Contact Your Insurance: It's crucial to contact your insurance company directly to understand your specific out-of-network benefits. Ask the following questions:
Are out-of-network mental health services covered under my plan?
If so, what percentage or amount of each session is covered?
Is there a deductible that needs to be met before coverage begins?
Is there a limit on the number of sessions that can be reimbursed per year?
Do I need pre-authorization for out-of-network services?
What specific information is required for reimbursement (e.g., diagnosis codes, provider information, etc.)?
Understanding Your Benefits
By contacting your insurance company and clarifying your out-of-network benefits, you'll have a clearer understanding of the potential for reimbursement and any associated costs. This will help you make informed decisions about your therapy journey.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Clients who benefit the most from therapy attend every week..There are many different styles of therapy that may be effective, and it is important that you find the right fit for you. I offer depth work, which is most effective with regular sessions. Therefore, I require a commitment from clients to attend weekly therapy.
I understand that our schedules change, and there may be times you simply cannot make it in for your session. You may cancel up to 4 sessions per calendar year without paying the session fee as long as you provide 48 hour's notice. If you cancel any sessions beyond those 4 for any reason, you will be responsible for the cancellation fee.
I ask that you give me as much advance notice as possible when canceling a session. Late cancellations are sessions canceled less than 48 hours before the scheduled session time. You will be responsible for the full fee. These would not count toward your 4 free cancellations. You are welcome to explore options for rescheduling or making up a session.
If you are traveling, ill, or otherwise can’t make it to an in-person session, teletherapy may also be an option. If you are not able to attend or find a mutual time to reschedule the session, you are responsible for the full fee and payment is due at the time of your regularly scheduled session. If I am not able to attend a session, you will NOT be charged the fee.
You must reside in California, USA for our work.
I am only tele-therapy at this time. No in-person sessions currently.
